This declaration for vinyl tile covers a broad range of styles and colors produced by RFCI manufacturers of this flooring
product. The name vinyl tile, for the purposes of this EPD, includes products which are described and specified as
vinyl tile, solid vinyl tile, and luxury vinyl tile. Vinyl tile is made primarily from calcium carbonate limestone), polyvinyl
chloride, plasticizers, additives (i.e., pigments and stabilizers) and in some cases fiberglass. Vinyl tile is classified in
multiple categories dependent on the binder content, type of surface and construction.
The manufacturing process results in a single layer or multiple layer product depending on the construction; decorative
applications can be applied to the surface. A diagram of a vinyl tile cross-section is shown in Figure 1.
